Just reading the blurb I felt overwhelmed by the amount happening in this book. I am not sure whether this was the intention to reflect the time and what was happening within the world at the time. However, for me, the book feels too busy but it may be because it is not my genre of book and therefore I am not necessarily taking it in.
The front cover is lovely though, looks nice and I like the colours used.
