* As a bilingual person myself, I highly appreciate the focus and representation of such people. This seemed genuine and realistic, which is rarely achieved in other books
* Characters are not particularly lovable, but it seems to be done on purpose
* I do not understand why everything is set during the first month(s?) of covid - will this add anything to the story? If not, it is a little awkward, as most of the panic and preventative measures described were very short lived
* Not sure on what the book is about, and what it will be focused on. As a result, there is currently nothing that would particularly "hook me"

Edit: I am noticing now that my last two points are very well addressed in the description of the book, which I read after the snipped. However, I will leave them, as they show my initial concerns and impressions from the first 30 pages.
