The sharp and playful cover evokes both humour and foreboding which is borne out in these opening chapters. The characterisation is vivd and I hope this is developed in the novel as there is the risk of charicature. The relationships are well defined making this a satisfactory set-up for an anticipated tale of disaster, fun and self-discovery.
