The opening pages are a little overwhelming in the amount of information which is relayed. It seems the author wanted to get everyone's backstory on paper within the first thirty pages including family relationships, divorces, travel, long term friendships, when driving tests were taken and how Masha and Sasha had changed over the past few years. It was a barrage of information.

Although the main premise of the story could be interesting it could get a bit too much if this level of detail is provided for the rest of the book.
