I really enjoyed the first impression and found it engrossing in a kind of surreal way, remembering when services were categorised as essential and how life changed so quickly. I liked the humour and the whip- smart prose but my concern is that the novel will run out of steam and might end up feeling drawn out. However with eight friends, 4 romances and six months of isolation, I’m betting there is more than enough drama to sustain it through the 300 odd pages. This is a book I am intrigued to read.
