A Russian born novelist and his wife Masha have invited friends and friends of friends to their house in the country at the beginning of the Covid to stay away from the outbreak. Masha takes a lot of precautions - social distancing, cleaning, everyone has a chair for their stay. Her husband goes to purchase all the food and wine for the beginning of the stay, although his poor driving skills means that there will be less wine than he had imagined.

Over the next six months, new friendships and romances will take hold, while old betrayals will emerge, forcing each character to reevaluate whom they love and what matters most.

It is very funny and is the most ambitious book yet by the author. There are lavish descriptions of the house and bungalows. The characters are hilarious.

I wish this had been available at the beginning of the pandemic to cheer me up.
