I think my review title sums up my thoughts on this book. I has left me feeling a little indifferent.

This is my first encounter with this author and I have heard so many good things about his work and i was really gripped by the first impression and the time frame that this novel was based around. I loved the idea that an author has used such a big, inpactful event within a novel. It worked well, but it was very character driven and I felt in a few different places that it was a little dull and close to the side of boring. However, in other parts it seems to pick up and move quicker.

As you might have guessed, I'm still a little torn on this novel. Not a bad read but I think I have found that I enjoyed more plot driven books. One great thing about the novel was the way it tackled difficult subjects, very well written. I feel it is definitely worth the read but didn't really suit my reading likes.
