Ok, so I read this book initially because of the front cover. The simplistic style of the house in a bubble brought questions to my mind. The title "Our Country Friends" didn't really give anything away either so curious, I read the book.
The novel itself is set in the early covid pandemic (March 2020). Some friends come together in a country house and over time, friendships, love affairs, and lots of rivalries take place. I don't want to give too much away as I want you to experience it for yourself. However, what I will say is if you are a fan of romance and drama, this book will be good for you. The writer has implemented both of these features extremely well. The only thing that stopped me from giving this book a 5 star instead of 4 stars is that it is not as fast-paced as I would want it be. if it was a little bit faster-paced, it would make it more interesting.
