This book is definitely a bit different - in one sense not an awful lot happens but the way it is portrayed and the anxiety and emotion it expresses feels very real. I wasn't sure reading a COVID-lockdown style book would be enjoyable but it was cathartic in a way, to know that we handled so many similar things to these characters. I loved the characters, particularly Nat, who I felt very connected to. In this artificially created scenario, we have these relationships and affairs and secrets that build and build to create a very intense environment. However, as you come to know each character what really struck me was how real and flawed they all were - they weren't perfect and they weren't easy, and as frustrating as this was at times, I suppose it made the story more realistic. I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear towards the end.
