It was interesting to read a work of fiction that was centered around such abnormal times of the pandemic that we're so closely linked to the situation we have all been living through and therefore so instantly relatable. However, I'm not sure how the longevity of this book will last once COVID is a thing of the past and we've all forgotten how the world turned upside down.

Despite the close ties to the pandemic situation I found the book a little lacking in substance. A group of friends and friends of these friends gather in a country house to isolate there and wait out the pandemic. This closely formed pact over the next six months creates an array of situations. New friendships form and romances blossom but also, betrayals and resentment come to the fore and result in people evaluating what is important to them.

There was an assortment of characters which was interesting and varied. A Russian born novelist and his psychiatrist wife and child, a struggling Indian American writer, a successful Korean American app developer we're all part of the mix.

I found this book ok for a quick read but will not be one that stays with me.
