Nadia takes the 7.30am train every morning. Well, not every morning. Most days Nadia needs to drag herself out of bed. Daniel actually does get the 7.30am train and on the days he sees Nadia he is quite taken by her. In an attempt to get Nadia's attention, Daniel posts a short message in the local newspaper, "To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I'm the guy who's always standing near the doors... Drink sometime?". And so begins a story of near misses between two people attempting to find love.

This delightful romance was told with wit and charm that is aimed towards a modern and young audience. The story was told in alternating chapters between our two main characters, Nadia and Daniel. It was refreshing to get both perspectives of the love interests in a romcom. I liked that Nadia was working in STEM, showing that she was an intelligent and successful career woman. I preferred Daniel's character over Nadia's. I appreciated his sensitivity and how the author portrayed his grief. It also felt like the romance between him and Nadia was largely due to Daniel and his feelings and behaviour. From Nadia's side I didn't feel any romance towards Daniel. I felt like Nadia could have had a little more sensitivity and romance towards Daniel.

At times the pacing was inconsistent. I felt that in some places it was too fast and in others parts the story was just dragging on. It also felt like there were far too many near misses and it made the story feel a lot longer than it really was. When I got to the end I did feel slightly disappointed that they finally met at the absolute end of the book, but this story was more about the journey than the result.

The author covers themes such as friendships, grief, gaslighting, consent, toxic relationships and toxic masculinity. This was a fun plot and a well written modern love story, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read.
