This is what I needed right now. Something cute, uplifting, relatable and sharp. Told from the viewpoints of Nadia and Daniel, Our Stop is a hilarious ‘will they, won’t they’ love story. I was happy to jump on board for the ride as a book that is pitched as a modern rom-com was going to be fun.

My initial thoughts were what a refreshing take on the classic boy meets girl story. The men spoke about their feelings and openly discussed feminism. Women had kick-ass jobs working in STEM and were independent and inspirational. This is what I want from my contemporary romances people! I want them to push boundaries and tackle real issues because that’s life! Relationships, friendships, families are all complicated so say it how it is. I want to read thoughtful love stories like this where the characters are relatable and honest, the writing is smart and witty, and the plot ticks a long nicely. There are even references to some of my favourite films in the book. You Got Mail? Sleepless in Seattle?? Yes please!

The story is progressive, charming and packed full of emotion. Just the right amount of cuteness to not tip over into cheesy. If you fancy a modern day romance, I would recommend you pick this up. This will 100% be made into a film at some point.
