From the dedication page - “For anyone who, like me, chooses to believe (despite all the evidence to the contrary)” - and the first two chapters, Laura Jane Williams had me hooked! I was laughing from the outset and this didn’t stop throughout the whole book. I was so invested in the two main characters Nadia and Daniel whose perspective the chapters alternate between and for me this made their journeys so special.

The premise grabbed my attention immediately as I have wondered in the past just what could happen to the people who write in to the Metro’s ‘Rush Hour Crush’ if they were ever to read and realise the message was about them. Enter Nadia and Daniel and a Monday morning post in the daily paper’s ‘Missed Connections’ section from Daniel. I couldn’t wait to discover if Nadia and Daniel would always remain just a missed connection or if this post could change their lives forever.

This story was refreshing and so much fun to read. There were so many little things along the way like the hashtag that made me laugh and relate to the world we live in today. I loved getting to know Nadia and her two best friends Emma and Gaby and discovering the equally wonderful traits of Daniel and his friendships, especially with Romeo. So many times I found myself inwardly shouting ‘Oh No!’ because of how much I wanted certain things for these characters! I love that I felt this genuine concern and connection to these wonderful people who I will really miss now that their story for me has come to its final destination. The ending of the book was just perfect too and I really loved the epilogue!

I would recommend this book to everyone and cannot wait to see what novels Laura writes in the future!
