Ahh this book is EVERYTHING!!!
My hopelessly romantic heart is happy right now!
Still floating on the ‘love high’ that was “The Flatshare”, when I had the opportunity to get an early copy of this book, I couldn’t resist. That synopsis had me hook line and sinker - I HAD to know more - did Nadia respond to the Missed Connection???
She did indeed and what follows it a cute, laugh out loud, slow build romance that had me in its grasp from the first page to the last.
If you’re not a fan of slow burn romance then this might not be for you, but for me it meant that the anticipation kept building and building and I was desperate to find out what was going to happen. Nadia and Daniel have so many close calls and nearly moments but that all added to the wonderful take on a classic theme.
Our Stop was well written and included a wonderful cast of supporting characters (Romeo I’m talking to you my friend!). They all added to the overall story and alongside the social and cultural references, made this book feel fresh and new - very 2019.
Can I gush about the love story now please....
I loved it. It was so bloody cute. Daniel is the modern day man every woman needs. He is thoughtful, caring and most of all, he’s kind. I love how the author made him so considerate and not a traditional mans-man. He likes reality tv, big romantic gestures and worries about his appearance. He just felt honest and real.
Nadia was just the same. She was relatable. She has hang ups about men after some previous bad experiences, she has insecurities about her appearance but she’s also a successful woman in a high tech industry. I loved the relationship she had with her friends and her “I’ll try again Monday” attitude that will be familiar to many women.
This book was fantastic in my opinion and it gave me everything I wanted from a rom com. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you’re a fan of The Flatshare or The Kiss Quotient please pick this one up as I don’t think you’ll be disappointed 💕
