I am not really in the target readership for this novel , and I can see that it is trying to tick all the correct boxes for a modern ya story . It is probably made a bit more interesting by changing perspectives as the story goes along. The conversations between the various friends didn’t ring true somehow but to be honest I was a teenager a very long time ago and so I am not really the best one to judge !
