A clever concept revisited and enforced into a group of friends that manage to navigate themselves through the bizarre adventure that is about to unfold. It’s as if teenage emotionality isn’t enough, throw in some powers that come with destructive consequences, just throws you into a turmoil. I loved the strength of friendship between Steven and Freya. Their bond and unrelenting affection for each other is inspiring and heart warming. There are plenty of twists in this story and certainly the imagination is invoked throughout. The scientific experiments, along with a dedicated government agency does make you wonder how close to the truth some of this can relate too. Overall, it is fun and scary in equal measures, Steven has a lot of humour that balances out his more complex personality, which is something Freya can and does understand. This is definitely worth reading and has the potential for more to come
