I have loved this book completely: it is so wholesome! It is like Harry Potter but their powers are from emotion, but all of it is better!
I have never read a book where 17 year olds feel like their age, in the way they speak and think.
Absolutely loved the concept of the story, the way it was turned out and the pace of it. Everything is done brilliantly and you just cannot not love the characters: Stevie and Freya are friendship goals!
The little cute romances in there? 10/10 executed brilliantly.
I have read some reviews here and there where other readers did not like the age difference between Steve and Zachary, and yes while it sounds disturbing that is the point: it is showing emotional (literally) manipulation of an older person to exploit a younger one. It's not the author wrote them in "Call Me by Your Name" fashion: it is all part of the plot and links all the different events together.
