Great sounding start to a new series

Peregrine has always enjoyed her godfather Daedalus' stories of immortality and she thought that's all they were, tall tales.
But then the portal connecting realms shuts down and Daedalus who can fix it is kidnapped.
It's now upto Peregrine and her friends to try and fix the portal and rescue Daedalus before something evil comes to take over.
This sounds fantastic, totally my kind of read and something I would gravitate towards due to the fantasy element.
