Though a little young for my tastes, I thought the extract looked like the makings of a well written and engaging read for older children/young teens. The magic and fantasy of this world pulled me in and it would be something that my younger self would devour! The cover isn't to my tastes, but I still think would be eye-catching for youngsters.
