This is a great start to a new series. Peregrine has always been fascinated with magic and the Cosmic Realm. It's the place her godfather, Daedalus, comes from but it's also place she's not allowed to enter or even get too close to! Of course, this probably just makes her more determined to find a way some day.

When Daedalus is kidnapped, Peregrine finally gets the chance she always wanted, but not in the way she wanted. She doesn't really know anything about the Cosmic Realm and all it's dangers. Luckily she has the help of a dryad, a faun and a magical, sentient plant so what can go wrong???

There were loads of funny bits which made me laugh throughout the book. All the characters were brilliant and I loved getting their different points of views. Even the villains were wonderfully horrible and evil. Peregrine's adventures take her through so many magical places, including my favourite, the Under Under Ground, which is modelled on the London Tube. I loved the maps included and my copy had a gorgeous foiled inner cover. I can't wait for book 2!
