Not being the target audience, I probably didn't enjoy this book quite as much as I should but I can still appreciate how the right reader would absolutely love this. Wow, how children's books have changed since I was a child!
First of all, the cover image is exciting and energetic. The overall feel and look of the book particularly being a hardback would make it a great gift and one to keep hold of. The colourful character images on the first page are a great addition too.
I like that it is the first in a major new fantasy series and the sense of excitement that brings.
The familiar locations of Oxford, London and it's underground make it easier for the reader to picture and become engrossed in. A great debut ................................................................................................................
