This book looks at the idea that the experience of reading a book is as much about the physical book itself as about the story inside. As someone who collects books I can relate to the emotion of feeling a connection with a book as an object and I enjoyed the way that the author describes the feel and smell etc. of a book as being an intrinsic part of the reading experience. I was also interested in the elements of magic and folklore that the author covers in the introduction, and I'm keen to read on and find out more about the history of bookbinding and book production. The author's writing style is also very engaging and easy to read.
