I like the feel of this book - it strikes me as intelligent, articulate and carefully constructed, all things I appreciate in non-fiction writing. However, I think the words 'rosy nostalgic glow for childhood reading' in the blurb were really the convincer. It's one of those turns of phrase which just immediately connected with me and I'm really interested to find out more about the authors opinions and perspectives on books and reading.
