Books about books can often be warm-heartedly nostalgia, but Portable Magic seems to offer something different, and that makes it interesting! Books are objects as well as repositories of information or doors to other worlds; their form has meaning and power, and I am intrigued to learn a little about their socio-political and cultural impact. This sounds like a great read, and the cover perhaps conveys something of the power, fragility and potential danger of books.
