Reading the description of this book made me feel all kinds of nostalgia - some of the most clear memories I have from my childhood revolve around getting lost in a world of books, so I was hugely intrigued by this book from the offset.

I read a mix of fiction and non-fiction books, so I found this in-depth examination of books fascinating. This book takes you right back to the beginning to give you a history of how books started, as scrolls, and then brings you right up-to-date with e-books, that some may not quite consider this a book (yes, me).

I did however struggle slightly as I found parts a little too academic, but perhaps that's exactly the point of this book and I'm just not used to reading in this way.

The book is beautifully written and my suggestion is to not have an expectation where you can sit down and read lots of pages at a time - read a few pages, digest the information and trust me, you'll keep going back for more.
