This was an interesting book, but it is definitely one to read in bits rather than try to read start to finish. I started off trying to do this, and it didn't work for me, but when I went back and dipped in and out I found it much more enjoyable.
Each chapter deals with a different period in history and brings lots of information to us as readers.
The author has clearly done lots of research, and some of the historical parts I found really really interesting.
I think anyone who has an interest in books and how their usage and production over the years has changed would find things to enjoy and learn in this book.
Not sure if the history of books is something that can be studied, but if it is then I think this would be an engaging and useful starting point for a student to read.
