This book is an academic non fiction book and is my first Emma smith book I have read and I will definitely be reading more. It has a beautiful cover that stands out with a name that brings me curiosity and it is written so nicely. I love this book because it is a book all about the history of books to give us all the facts and history about books and why they have a hold over us once we start reading and makes us think all about what each book stands for with lots of research being given throughout and makes us think into the relationship ship of the physical book. This book is separated within chapters by standalones so they can be ready separately which I also love because I like reading a chapter each time. It is very educational based and explored many different aspects which are very interesting and fascinating. Overall I enjoyed it and it was a very different read for me
