It seems that P.S. I Love You is a sequel to a much loved novel. I haven't read that novel and I think it appears to be important that you do. Upon reading the prologue I understood that it was about a widow's grief for her husband. The prologue was written so eloquently, however this part of the book is not for me. The prologue seems disconnected from the first few chapters. When I read more into the chapters I felt myself getting into it and preferring the style of writing that flows within the chapters. I appreciate the themes that are addressed in this book and it is for this reason that I would continue to read on. However, from this preview I'm not invested in finding out what happens. I suppose this is where it's important that you read the first book. Those who are already invested in these characters and their past will want to read on.
