Many years ago I read “P.S I Love You” and it made me feel so emotional. It was heartwarming, sad, funny and I cried many many tears. It has stayed with me over the years and I have since read almost everything written by Cecelia Ahern I could get my hands on. There is just something about her writing style that really makes you empathise with the characters.
I had mixed emotions about picking this up. Having loved the first book so much I was worried this would not live up to expectation on the other hand I was excited to be able to delve back into the world of Holly and Gerry.
The story starts a few years on from where we left off after Holly finished reading the letters from Gerry all signed off with ‘P.S I Love You’ and although physically she has moved on, met someone new, emotionally Holly still sees herself as Gerrys and thinks about him everyday. Then she comes across a mysterious club that have been writing their own letters and want Holly’s help. Although nothing will ever quite be as good as the first book it was lovely to see some more of Holly’s life and what happens next with her. I recommend for all Cecelia Ahern’s fans.
