I hadn’t seen the film or read the first book, but I think I will go back and do so now. This is a book full of hope in the face of tragedy.
Holly, still suffering from the loss of her first husband who sent her letters from beyond the grave is trying to move on with her life. Gerry seems to be ever present in her life though and her boyfriend struggles with this. Her sister encourages Holly to take part in her podcast and tell the story of how Gerry managed to keep their love alive even from the other side. This podcast is the catalyst for the ps I love you club. People with terminal illness are desperate to get advice from Holly about what they can do to to make their passing easier for the loved ones they leave behind. The result is an emotive, fast paced tear jerker that you can’t put down. Tears will be shed.
