It is 7 years since Holly was widowed at the age of 27 when her husband Gerry died from a brain tumour. He left her 10 letters for her to open during her first year without him which all ended P S I love you. This sequel is about Holly helping 4 other terminally ill people (The PS I Love You Club) to leave messages for their loved ones to read after they’ve gone but it understandably brings back lots of memories for Holly.
This is the second time that I have read Postscript - I first read it a year ago when it was originally published - and thought that I’d just skim through it again before writing my review, However, I was unable to stop myself reading it all again properly. Although I remembered the plot, I was able to really appreciate the sentiments and emotions this time, particularly as I have suffered a bereavement myself since I first read it.
This is a lovely, well written and funny book which I would recommend to everyone but particularly those living with a terminal illness and those who care for them.
