4.5 stars for this brilliant sequel to ps I love you. The story picks up 7 years after the 1st book left us, Holly has managed to carve a life after the loss of husband Gerry and is now with Gabriel who she is planning to settle down with. She then is approached to help people who are terminally ill say goodbye to their loved ones in letters after they have gone just as Gerry did to Holly in the first book, you are introduced to new characters all with different stories. Some of the characters I warmed to more than others, Ginika’s broke my heart. I read Ps I love you after I watched the film so I think I always have those characters in my mind when reading, this makes it a little difficult as they changed quite a bit in the film from the book ie how Holly and Gerry met etc. But I loved this story it’s beautifully written and the only reason it wasn’t 5 was that sometimes it’s a little over descriptive for me sentences such as “Love as natural as shifting tectonic plates with seismic results” is my only slight negative but I would love to see this made into a film.
