I’m always afraid that previously unplanned sequels end up “tainting” the first book, especially if that first book is such a well-loved classic as PS, I Love You. But not to worry, that is absolutely not the case with Postscript! This sequel does justice to the original story.

This book takes place seven years after Gerry’s death, so Holly is a lot further on in her journey and her grief. This gives the book an interesting perspective. I felt it has its own heart-warming and incredibly moving story, which is based on, but not a repetition of, the events in PS, I Love You.

I was drawn in from the start, and thought there was a good balance between very emotional and more light hearted chapters. I loved revisiting the old characters, and also getting to know the new ones. The story seemed to focus heavily on character development for many characters, especially Holly, which I really appreciated.
I do feel there were a few loose ends that could have been tied up at the end of the book, but they were all minor things.

All in all, it was a captivating story of loss and hope, and personal growth, and I really enjoyed reading this book.
