I have finally finished this and I’m left wondering if I enjoyed it or not. Ahern is one of my favourite authors, but I think ‘PS I Love you’ should have been left as a stand-alone book.

For me, this book took too long to get to the hook and I couldn’t help but feel the first half was dragged out and it could have been made shorter. I was left wanting more from the stories interwoven with Holly’s - in parts it was emotional, but Ahern could have delved deeper with it. She is known for being an emotive writer, but this just didn’t hit the spot for emotional release.

I also questioned throughout whether or not I liked Holly and Gerry as characters and I never did that when reading ‘PS I Love You’. Different sides of them were seen and I don’t think it truly reflected the characters we came to love in book 1.

Unfortunately, and it hurts me to say that, but for me, it’s a no: I wouldn’t recommend reading this.
