Attention grabbing and gripping from the start - opening with a thrilling fast-paced, action packed hunt scene of man chasing beast chasing man.

Dane Mellanby, our hunted man-prey has made discoveries that he shouldn't have and has paid with his life. Who was he and what did he know that was worth killing for?

The hunter and the hunted, but who is the hunter and who is the prey?

Set in Wilbur Smith's beloved homeland of Africa with teenage brother and sister Ralph and Robyn encountering strange and mysterious discoveries on the game reserve where they live. Many questions are raised with these discoveries, but the answers are needed, and so begins the adventure.

As to be expected it is a thoroughly engaging and very well written story incorporating several different strands of plotline which are skilfully interwoven throughout and inhabited with believable characters who are either good, bad or various shades somewhere between.

The pace of the story does not let up but increases the deeper we are drawn in, and one by one the different strands of storyline merge into one.

An extremely engrossing action and adventure keeping me turning page after page. Even though the target readership is YA, it is well suited to adult readership.

If you like Wilbur Smith, you will not be disappointed
