If I could sum up this book in three words, it would be: prehistoric, bloodthirsty, danger.

As someone who is a big fan of Jurassic Park, this book follows along similarly with a plot that brings ancient animals to life. At a family ranch in South Africa, siblings Ralph and Robyn have an exciting life at Crocodile lodge to help with the wildlife and aid conservation. However, when a predator escapes into their land, questions are raised. What is this mysterious beast and why does it all lead back to their neighbouring hunting enthusiast?

This book was quite gripping, the action is constant from the start with great description of the land and the animals that live there. It was one aspect I quite enjoyed as the setting makes for a refreshing and exciting new read for me. There were multiple mysteries and plot twists throughout and I really enjoyed how it is told in third person to tell the story from multiple POV's. The plot points really tie in well together and I wasn't disappointed.

On a negative note, I didn't really like the characters that much. They felt rather shallow and acted rashly in the beginning (although I guess it's because they are teenagers after all).

Overall, it is definitely a gripping read, and I would highly recommend it for teenagers and young adults looking for a thriller-based novel packed with action and scary predators.
