In the past I've occasionally surprised myself by enjoying a novel in the fantasy/magic/dark romance genre, and would never assume that a story aimed at YA readers couldn't engage my interest. However, by the time I reached the end of reading the first four chapters of this one I wasn't left feeling that I wanted to know how the story would develop ... so I'll withdraw from the competition to win a copy in order that the odds will be better for a more appreciative reader!
