I wasnt sure I would like this as I ajd felt the first one was too much of a young adult fantasy for my taste, and from the first line of this I thought it was more of the same. The opening is the same format, a dark enigmatic opening sentence, quickly followed by a rapid exposition in the next few paragraphs.
However as I read on I did feel myself becoming a bit more engrossed in the story, the second chapter is much better and more interesting to read. I feel like this will be a much better book than the first one.
