Oh wow! Way to be thrown into the action immediately! So to start, I like the author - I really enjoyed reading To Kill A Kingdom so I automatically knew I wanted to read this. The name and cover of the book are also really appealing

As for the book itself, I feel like we've been introduced to the main characters and I'm curious to understand the dynamics of their relationships. What is going on between the King and Theola and why is she so cold to her daughter? Who is Nox and why does he want to kill the King? What is going on with Selestra's magic and why was she marked? Why did the King ask her to do the reading?

I really want to see more of the world building and understand the magic system. I dont get why Selestra would have been marked if she didnt petion or have her hair cut. I also dont understand how she saw a vision of herself guiding another version of her self. Its confusing in that great way of I want to get to the bottom of it immediately! Overall holds a lot of promise!
