First off the cover is gorgeous, emerald green with a spooky edge to it - my favourite colour which helps too. From this excerpt the book seems like it will be a good subversion of the evil witch trope, breaking down whether power is inherently evil or if it’s more about how the person uses it. I love a good forced together for survival trope too so that’s a major hook for me, bring on the enemies to lovers and sharing a small space forcing deep conversation.
I also like how the main girl has such differing features from the norm, those striking eyes sound beautiful. It seems like it will be a book filled with drama and life or death scenarios. Definitely worth a read.
