It had me gripped right from the start. Alexandra’s writing always transports the reader into the story, you can actually imagine yourself as part of the action.
Selestra was a great character, she was strong and determined to do right despite the pressure from her mother and the king. She would go to any lengths to protect those she cares most about. A strong female role model for any young female.
Nox stole my heart during the first bar scene, he’s a charming, cocky young lad who thinks he knows best. His agony over losing his father gives him great determination to carry out his fathers goals and he won’t let anything stand in his way…even the witch heir.
