I recently read (and loved) To Kill A Kingdom so I was very excited when I heard there was a follow-up story.

Instead of the little mermaid, princess of Souls is loosely based on Rapunzel. Like the prequel, the story’s narrative alternates between two character, Selstra and Nox, giving opposing sides of the overlapping storyline. Just as Lira and Elian were tied by destiny, so are Selstra and Nox. From the moment they meet their stories become one.

The cover follows the same artwork theme as the previous book, so it’s easy to identify as part of the same series. Whilst there are many compatibles with To kill a Kingdom, Princess of Souls is it’s own distinctive tale, with all of the excitement and emotion readers have come to expect from Christo’s novels.
I’d recommend this for reading age of 14 upwards, there’s the odd curse word but overall there’s nothing too risqué to put off a YA reader.
