Set in the same world as To Kill A Kingdom, this book follows Selestra and Nox. Selestra has been trapped in her tower, avoiding touching anyone so she doesn't see their deaths. But when Nox arrives at the castle to win a wish from the King, Selestra winds up part of his plan. When she touches him their fates wind up entwined and if she wants to survive, she'll have to keep him alive.

I had a lot of fun with this book. It's a Rapunzel retelling but it uses the tale in a different way then most others do. Her hair makes her stand out but it isn't necessarily her magic. Also there's no evil step-mum or anything in here so that makes the family drama more interesting.

The romance was plenty of fun. Selestra and Nox really don't like eachother at first but they need eachother. I liked seeing their relationship bloom but I also enjoyed the friendships too. There was a death of a side character that definitely made me sad as I really enjoyed their relationship with Nox.

If you're looking for a fun fantasy filled with romance and intrigue then this really could be the one for you. It's not what you'd expect from a Rapunzel retelling with a fascinating magic system and a world that we know yet we don't. I want to read more in this world.
