This is a wonderful retelling, which follows its own path rather than sticking fully to the original story and I absolutely loved it.
This is a beautiful story, full of action, adventure, magic, mystery, intrigue, friendship and love. The story centres around the journey that Selestra and Nox take together to save the Isles. Along the journey there is plenty of character development for Selestra and Nox. Selestra's character changes so well throughout the story and I love that her self-discovery is a large part of the story and that Nox is a big part of it but not 100% essential. The story is classed as a re-relling as well which I really enjoyed.
The story is pretty fast paced from the start and will keep you intrigued from beginning to end. This is a YA novel with the characters being younger and therefore bear in mind if not normally a YA reader.
