I had previously read To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo before reading this and I definitely enjoyed it so I was very excited to read this when I saw it was coming out. The premise of this book definitely intrigued me. We follow, Selestra, a witch who is her mother's heir to be the next witch for the King, and Nox, a soldier who wants to get revenge on the king by killing him and the witches. Both Selestra and Nox have to work together to end the king's reign - so this is an enemies to lovers story, which I love!!! It is one of my favourite tropes.
This story was fast paced, interesting and soo much fun!! It was tense and exciting at every turn, Alexandra Christo is very good at creating amazing characters and plots, and pacing her stories very well.
I did think that the story lost me at a few parts and i was confused sometimes, but overall I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend!!
