I was super disappointed with this story. I got past halfway and then lost interest fairly quickly.
To start off the story seemed very promising, and the characters came across as fairly interesting, with an air of mystical magic about them.
Tarisai lives in a what I can only describe as a castle in the middle of the African bush. Her mother has cast a spell over the property so that to a human eye, the property is invisible. Tarisai is half demon, and her mother has plans for her when she comes of age. Her mother known as "The Lady", wants Tarisai to kill the young emperor, but to do this she has to complete a series of tests. Tarisai does not want to fulfil her mothers wishes and tries her hardest to stop the demon inside her from acting out the murder.
I found it quite hard to read some of the words at times as they were foreign, but in general it was ok, just got bored halfway through.
