As soon as i heard about this book i knew i had to buy and read it. As someone who is a person of colour, i’m always on the look out for more diverse and inclusive books, which this book is absolutely perfect for.
The West-African inspired world was quite frankly incredible and so well developed that it made me feel as if i too had actually experienced it and been there myself, and was so well crafted that it just helped to further the plot so much. As someone who adores good world building, this book ticked all the boxes, and if you’re as much as a fan of incredibly developed world building then i highly recommend this book.
However, not only was the world so perfectly developed, but so were the characters, especially as all of their personalities and goals were so rich and well thought out. As well as the protagonists being easily loveable, the antagonists gripped me in, overall building a brilliant plot.
