I have yet to read Raybearer but after reading the first chapter I will definitely have to the entirety of it soon.
I love maps at the start of a book, which Raybearer provides and it’s an easy map to understand, unlike some that take forever to wrap your head around.
The writing is easy to understand and follow along with, which is incredibly important, especially at the beginning of a book where everything is new to us. I loved the opening line ‘I shouldn’t have been surprised that fairies exist’. It’s a great start to the book, from it you can gather it’s from the main character’s perspective and magic will be involved. The scenery and characters were introduced very well but wasn’t the focus of the scene.
I believe it is definitely based on the fantasy reader fans from what i gather from the first chapter and synopsis but that’s not to say others wouldn’t find it enjoyable.
