I chose this book for my points and I am not going to lie, O chose it because I liked the cover. Oops!
But what is inside did not disappoint me as well.
The story dragged me in from the first page. The characters, the descriptions, the atmosphere. The author has a very capturing writing style. It is an easy read and I didn't want to put the book down.
Raybearer transfers you to a different world. This mystical magical place. And you follow the story of the main character Tarisai as she grows, grows up and becomes more of her own person with each chapter.
There are a lot of things, rules she did not know and learning that forms her. She is a great example of a strong leading female character.
There are a lot of unfamiliar terms (I only noticed the glossary after I finished the book, oops again), new cultures, new concepts and it stands out in the 'crowd' of other books.
