I'm completely torn by this book. On the one hand it has an incredible, unique plot and fantastic characters. It's a fascinating story, like nothing I've ever read before and it was so exciting to see how the story unfurled - there were lots of twists and turns! On the other hand, the writing itself is not so good. I really felt like I couldn't commit to it and it didn't grip me. I think the inconsistent timeline and lack of in depth discussion of events made it feel jumpy and more like a draft of a story idea than a story itself. That said, I read it all, enjoyed it, and would be interested to read a sequel. I love the cover, and it was fantastic to see a strong female lead character who is going to change her world. I think I would be hesitant to recommend it to others, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
